Ben Allred

Ben Allred is a Chapel Hill native. He attended Glenwood Elementary, Phillips Junior High, and Chapel Hill High School. Ben graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1990, and received a Master’s degree in Recreation Management from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1997. While never a member of The Farm during his childhood, Ben spent countless hours at The Farm as a guest and even has a picture of himself in The Farm baby pool when he was 2 years old. Ben came to The Farm as a Recreation Intern in May, 1990 and has never left. He replaced long-time Farm Manager, Jack Simmons, in January, 1998.

My name is Seth Pomerantz and I am the Assistant Manager of The Farm. Although I was not born in North Carolina, I can call Chapel Hill my home since I was seven years old. I attended Ephesus Elementary, Phillips Middle School and East Chapel Hill High School. I worked as a camp counselor in Day Camp before going to receive my undergraduate and graduate degrees in the field of recreation. I have been a member of The Farm family since the summer of 2006 and couldn’t imagine a better place to work. I have been given the opportunity to bring my love and passion for event planning to each and every program at The Farm. I hope you will join me at some of the various programs throughout the year.
