Registration is now open for The Farm’s annual Raise a Racquet Tennis and Pickleball fundraiser for UNC Children’s Hospital.

Specifically, this supports the FARM Family Fund at UNC Children’s. This is a specially designated fund to help families with unmet expenses (like food, transportation, rent, mortgage payments, utilities) they face while their children are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Raise a Racquet is held at the Farm on Friday May 2nd, from 9-12. We start in the morning with a light breakfast, then take to the tennis and pickleball courts for a round robin tournament, where some special guests will be available to play in points.

All participants then enjoy a catered lunch from Med Deli and hear from UNC Children’s about the impact the FARM Fund has on families in their care.

That afternoon is the Kids’ Tennis Rally, where kids of all ages and abilities take to the court, enjoy a light meal, some fun tennis with some special guests (typically including Ramses Jr!).

Registration is open to non-Farm members, but typically sells out. So if you’d like to bring a friend, register soon! Registrations by March 31 will get a choice of a Raise a Racquet hat or visor

This year’s fundraising goal is $40,000, and even if you aren’t able to play on May 2nd, you can support our ambitious goal by:

  • Becoming a Sponsor: whether as an individual/family (or tennis team!) as a Court Sponsor; or if you have a connection to a business, we also offer Corporate Sponsorships. Those options are available on the “tickets and sponsorships” registration page.
  • Making a direct donation to UNC Children’s through Raise a Racquet. The donation page is here

There is no event budget for Raise a Racquet, so every single dollar, whether a ticket sale, a sponsorship, or a donation, goes directly to UNC Children’s.
